How ellacor® Micro-coring Works

Micro-coring skin tightening uses hollow needles to remove micro-cores of skin, resulting in the improved appearance of moderate and severe wrinkles. As the device moves over the skin, it removes cores of skin in the treatment area. This device is comprised of specifically designed hollow needles that penetrate and remove up to 8% of skin without any scarring. In a sense, this treatment is similar to a punch biopsy performed by a dermatologist, but it removes cores of the skin that are then vacuumed away via the needle hollows.

ellacor® Micro-coring Candidates

Micro-coring is available for use on the mid and lower face for adults aged 22 or older. This skin treatment is only available for skin types I-IV. Darker skin types V and VI may react differently to the Micro-coring procedure. Microneedling vs Micro-coring

What is the difference between microneedling and Micro-coring? Microneedling uses small needles to injure the facial tissue, but there is no skin removed during this treatment. Rather, the tissue is temporarily injured to promote the production of wound healing and collagen production.

Micro-coring, on the other hand, is solely focused on removing excess skin without surgery. It is the first device that removes skin on the micro-scale, improves wrinkles and folds at an impressive rate, and results in no visible scarring.

Dermal Fillers vs Micro-coring

Some people may believe that dermal fillers are the answer for the saggy skin. However, we know that is not the case. There is a significant difference between loose skin and volume loss. Dermal fillers are used to address volume loss including shadows, hollow areas, deep lines and creases, and flattened contours. Conversely, micro-coring gets to the bottom of the problem of loose skin which produces folds, jowls, fine lines and saggy/hanging skin.

Micro-coring Downtime and Aftercare

Micro-coring does have downtime of 3-7 days depending on the depth of the treatment. The deeper the treatment, the better the results, with a little more recovery time expected. Resting and staying at home for about a week or so is a good idea to ensure optimal healing. You can expect to experience redness, swelling, and some light bruising. The treatment areas will have a pinkish tint to them for a while. However, your recovery is relatively pain-free, and your post-Micro-coring care is very simple.
