What to Expect During a Facelift
Facelifts are regularly same-day, outpatient surgeries. After you arrive at our facility, you will meet with Dr. Goldman and get prepped for surgery. Most facelifts can be performed under local anesthesia with people awake when it is appropriate. Sometimes, local valium and IV sedation are available. When Dr. Goldman employs this method, the facelift recovery is faster and more comfortable for the client.
During the procedure, Dr. Goldman makes incisions along the ears, hidden in natural skin creases or folds, often into the hairline. Next, he lifts and repositions the facial muscles. During this time, facial tissue may be removed, and fat is used to reshape the face. In addition, excess skin is removed, and the skin is re-draped over the new face contours. Once the surgery is complete, the incisions are sutured close.
