How ProFractional Works

Profractional creates channels in the skin with a narrower diameter to stimulate natural collagen remodeling, resulting in younger-looking skin and a refreshed appearance. What to Expect with ProFractional

Before treatment, the provider will place a topical anesthetic on the skin. You will more than likely feel minimal discomfort as your provider delivers a ProFractional treatment to your skin. After the treatment, most patients will continue to feel warm for an additional 30 to 60 minutes or slightly longer with deeper treatment levels.

There is no heavy or time-intensive post-care—patients can enjoy normal social activities within a few days of treatment. Patients typically see noticeable improvement within weeks, with continued improvement for up to six months.

After the healing process is complete, expect your skin to appear tighter and smoother, with a greater reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and other skin imperfections.
Most patients see the best results after an initial series of 2 to 4 treatments, with additional semi-annual or annual visits. This routine will also vary depending on any other aesthetic treatments you may get and your overall skin goals and lifestyle.

ProFractional is designed to mitigate pain and downtime compared to other laser resurfacing or exfoliation techniques. With a topical anesthetic (and a nerve blocker, if warranted), patients typically experience lessened discomfort.

That said, the skin will continue to age naturally. Typically, patients return to their ProFractional provider every 12-18 months after their initial series to maintain their results.
